Editing day 3

We put the final touches on our film. We added the music which was easy to find and it brought the film opening a lot more energy. The music made the film opening interesting. We added the titles to the film which was also easy to do. I just took a little bit  of time to figure out what fonts we wanted and to make sure the color of the titles fit the romantic tone of the movie. We also made sure we had all the shots we needed and the editing was right.

Voiceover day 1

Today in class me and my group did our voiceover that we are going to be using in the movie. We went into a sound proof room in our teachers class and we used the microphone that she has to record the voiceover. It was hard doing the voiceovers because the person speaking didn’t know what part to come in. It took many different takes and another thing was if a person moved the microphone caught the sound causing us to have to restart the voiceover. We finished get all of the voice over scenes.

Editing day 2

In class me and my group started editing scenes 2 and 3 into what was already edited. We didn’t like how some of the scenes came out they were very choppy and the way it was filmed was not idea. So we are going to re-film the scene we didn’t like. In class we started to find the sound affects we want to put in the film it was difficult to find because iMovie only offers a small amount of sound effects. So we decided to downloaded the sound effects from youtube. We’ll be putting them in the video next class.

Filming day 3

We finished finished filming scene 2 and 3. Scene 3 was difficult to film because we couldn’t figure out how to get the scene to play out how we imagined. It was difficult to make the dress get stuck in the door. Scene 2 was easy to film because we already planned out what angles we wanted to get for that scene. The only thing left to do is finish editing and look for any scene we wanted to fix or redo.

Editing day 1

I started editing the film opening. I’ve been editing what we’ve filmed so far. Editing is my favorite part of the film making process. In my group I do most of the editing. I was able to edit some of the scenes. The scenes that are the hardest to edit is the conversations the main character and her friend have. I’ve never edited a reverse shot before. Another problem I ran into was the split screen I’m doing when the characters have a conversation in scene 2. The scene was not flowing so we’re either going to have to re-film the scene or I’m just going to have to edit that scene differently.

Filming day 2

We filmed scene 4, 5, 7 and 8. It was easy filming scene 4 and 5 because it was went the main character was walking into the McDonald. Scene 7 and 8 was a little more difficult because the actors were nervous to act in front of people in the McDonalds. Those scenes were my favorite because I was able to get a little more creative on the angles I wanted. We ran into a problem however when we were filming in the McDonalds. We were told we couldn’t film in there but lucky we were able to quick get the scene we needed.

Filming day 1

We started filming for the film opening. We were able to get the scene that we needed to shoot in my house. We filmed the “friends” part of scene 2 and scene 8. Those scenes were easy to film and find out what angles we wanted to get from those scenes. The only reason it was a little difficult to film is because of the actors. It took a couple of takes to get the actors to get their lines and get into character.

Class discussion

Today in class my group and I talked more in-depth on what we are going to do for our film. We discussed what specifically we’re going to be filming on each day we’re meeting up to film because we need to have things filmed at different times of the days. We talked about what scenes we needed to film in the beginning of the day and what scenes we needed to film later in the day. So there was also a discussion about the times we should meet so the lighting outside corresponded with how we wanted it to be in our film opening. We also contacted the extra people we added into our film to inform them of their role in our film.
